Are animals part of the family, i remember as a kid walking to the shop with my faithful friend and protection at my heel, he would even go into the shop and be spoilt with a treat from the shop keeper.
Nowadays children no longer venture out let alone to the corner shop, the shopkeeper with the treats has been replaced with a sign “no dogs allowed” and a security guard stands poised at the door with a taser to enforce the law.
The dogs are locked in the backyard and have been replaced with a mobile device and are forgotten in time. The old folks pet the dogs now and again and sit and wonder about the sign at the shop, when will it be changed to reflect old folks are not allowed past the glass whooshing doors, just to slow and talkative for the fast paced business of the day.
As time flies past perhaps a robot dog may one day be implemented to take the kids for a walk, just no time left for kids either now
